Why use stainless steel straws over plastic straws?
Plastic straws have an average lifespan of around 20 minutes before being thrown away. Stainless steel straws are reusable meaning they will last you years not minutes. Plastic is polluting our oceans killing an estimated 100 000 marine animals every year. Some plastic straws contain BPA, it is impossible to tell which do or do not from simply looking.
What is BPA?
BPA stands for bisphenol A and is an industrial chemical that has been used to create plastics since the 60s. Certain studies have displayed BPA seeping in to drinks from plastic products such as straws. BPA exposure has been linked with some very serious health issues including effecting the brain and prostate gland of fetuses, infants and children.
Are your stainless steel straws dishwasher safe?
Yes they sure are and every purchase comes with a free cleaning brush.
Are stainless steel straws suitable for children?
We see our stainless straws similarly to cutlery, if you would allow a child to eat with metal cutlery at the table then our straws can be used in the same way. We do not recommend letting children run around with stainless steel straws in their mouth, similarly to how you wouldn't allow them to do this with a piece of cutlery.
How durable are your stainless steel straws?
Made of stainless steel they will not crack or break if dropped meaning they are very durable.
Are your straws suitable to use in Yeti Tumblers?
Yes it fits in both sizes! We have a 30oz tumbler in our own home and it reaches right to the bottom.
How do I pay for produce with the produce bags?
The weight of each bag is stitched in to a label so you can show the cashier the tare weight when paying for produce.
How much weight can your produce bags hold?
You can fill your bags to the brim with potatoes and they won't break, we've tested it.
Will my copper bottle patina over time?
Yes, this is a natural process that will happen over time. It will not affect the quality or taste of the water.
Can I drink other drinks other than water from my copper bottle?
Your new water bottle isn't like other water bottles, it's made from pure copper. Copper can react with certain acidic drinks so we only recommend using for water.
Why does it say on my copper bottle packaging that I should take a break from using it every three months?
Drinking from a copper bottle is like taking a small copper supplement everyday. All supplements recommend letting your body take a break after a few months, before starting again for best results.
How do I make tofu with my new tofu press?
We have included instructions with every box, all you need to get started is a lemon and some soy beans.
How do I press tofu with my tofu press?
The lid weighs a hefty 2lbs, just the right amount to gently but firmly press excess water out of your tofu. The lid is flat so if you're in a rush, you can add extra weight to the top.
